SD WAN: DMPO(Dynamic MultiPath Optimization):-

DMPO:-
=====
(Branch)VCE<========DMPO tunnel=======>VCG's
(Branch)VCE<========DMPO tunnel=======>VCE(HUB)

DMPO functionalities:-
=====================

Continuous Monitoring:-
----------------------
1)Automated BW Discovery:-
++runs bw test to nearest VCG, by sending short burst of bi-directional traffic measuring received rate.
++runs b/w VCE---VCG and VCE(branch)-----VCE(HUB)

2)Continuous Path monitoring:-
++It continiously monitors the path by measuring LJP(Latency,Jitter,Packetloss) of every packet b/w two DMPO endpoints for every 100ms.
++when there is no user traffic, an active probe is sent every 100ms.
after 5min. still no user traffic then it sends probe for every 500ms.

    DMPO header:- has sequence number and time stamp
                    this helps to identify lost and out of order packets and caluculates Latency and Jitter.

Dynamic application steering:-
==============================
1)per packet steering:-
DMPO identifies L2 to L7 and per packet steering is done based on Business policy configs.
performs per-packet load balancing, utilizing all available links to deliver all packets

2)BW aggregation:-
--20ms--link1 --->selects as primary since it as 20ms
--60ms--link2  -->

On demand remediation:-
=========================
1)FEC(Forward error correction)
++if any packet is missed, then DMPO endpoint informs to other end to re-transmit the missing packet.
++FEC is enabled in single or multiple links.
++all duplicate packets are discarded and out of order packets are re-ordered at the receiving at before reaching to destination.
